FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Afternoon chukkas on an Argentina polo vacation

DO I HAVE TO PLAY POLO ALREADY?

Many of our guests already play polo (off a -1 goal handicap upwards) and come to us for a week or two to work on their game before the summer season starts in the UK or USA.

However, this isn't a prerequisite. If you are a total novice, serious about learning to play polo, we can give you an introduction to this great sport. Be warned: it is highly addictive!

We are not a place for people just wanting to try polo for an afternoon.

CAN I BRING MY NON-PLAYING PARTNER?

Absolutely. As a small and intimate polo estancia your non-playing partner, friend or family members are welcome … and less likely to feel ‘abandoned’ while you are busy with polo.

If you’re planning a longer trip, visiting some of Argentina’s highlights: the Iguazu falls, wine-tasting in Mendoza or the beautiful lakes of Bariloche, our proximity to Ezieza airport makes us a great option if you want to include a few days polo in your itinerary at the beginning or end of your travels.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

We’re generally blessed with a good climate during the Argentine spring and summer, but we can’t control the weather.

Depending on the amount of rain we get, we may not be able to ride on our polo fields, however, we’ll always try to get you out on a horse for drill riding or a hack, or if you’d prefer Nico will teach you game theory and tactics over a coffee in the barn.

CAN YOU CATER TO MY SPECIFIC DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

We have a set daily menu and eat lunches and dinners together, but with notice our private chef is able to accommodate some dietary requirements within this.

However, it’s worth remembering certain alternatives/substitutions available to you at home may not be available in rural Argentina. It’s always worth checking with Mandy before you book.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Most importantly you should ensure you have suitable comprehensive travel insurance in place.

We play afternoon chukkas in polo whites, so you should bring a couple of pairs along with your own helmet and boots (for both safety and comfort). If you’re short on space we can lend you kneepads.
